Professional Statement
Dr. Jennifer Traficanti was born and raised in Hinsdale, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate studies obtaining a BS in Animal Sciences and continued her stay at U of I for veterinary school, graduating in 2012.

Even though she always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian, her initial plan was to become a zoo veterinarian traveling to South Africa, Costa Rica and Australia for different wildlife management, research and clinical opportunities. However, through Dr. Traficanti’s domestic externships, she found that her heart and passion lied with treating and caring for companion animals: dogs and cats. In a quest to live somewhere warmer than the Windy City, Dr. Traficanti was fortunate to find the wonderful veterinary practice of CareFirst Animal Hospital and relocated to North Carolina soon after graduation.

Dr. Traficanti has a loving, happy boxer named Lady and enjoys hiking, relaxing by the ocean, appreciating theatre and the arts, and giving back to the community through various outreach opportunities. Dr. Traficanti’s professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology and emergency medicine.
