Dr. Goetz has worked in the veterinary field since high school, and has had a profound love for animals, and people who love animals, her entire life. Dr. Goetz has lived in the Raleigh area since 1992 when she completed her degree in Animal Science with Distinction from the University of Delaware College of Agriculture. In 1997, Dr. Goetz graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class, as she had at University of Delaware, where she was President of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners for a year. After receiving her DVM, Dr. Goetz completed an internship in Small Animal Surgery and Internal Medicine at Metroplex Veterinary Hospital in Irving, Texas, in 1998. Though not a requirement to become a veterinarian, this internship included rigorous training in emergency medicine, complex internal medicine cases (including cardiology, nephrology, neurology, and gastroenterology), plus experience in radiology, routine and complex surgical cases, dermatology and ophthalmology. After her internship, she returned to Raleigh doing relief work, before joining Bowman Animal Hospital where she practiced for seven years.
Dr. Goetz opened Animal Hospital at Brier Creek with a vision to create a place where clients can be treated like family receiving all the education, help and patience that they need and deserve. Dr. Goetz has created a place where pets can receive extra love and attention, while receiving state-of-the-art veterinary medicine using the best equipment, medications, and techniques. Her family at Animal Hospital at Brier Creek is very important to Dr. Goetz -- her staff, clients, and patients! At home, Dr. Goetz's family includes her husband, her 4 1/2 year-old daughter, her 50-pound Boxer mix, two ten-pound Peke/ShihTzu/Pomeranian/Poodle mixes, and ten cats.
